Vanderford, Donald “Don”, 93 passed away peacefully Monday December 7th 2015. He was a longtime resident of La Mirada CA. Don was born in San Diego, raised in Long Beach and Compton; attended Compton schools through Jr. College where he obtained his AA. He proudly served in World War II in the Army 1942-1946. After the war, he returned to college attending UC Santa Barbara where he met and married his wife Celette and received his BA in Business Administration. Donald had a career of more than 30 years at Southern California Edison working in the accounting department, from where he retired. During that time, he was active in Kiwanis where he served a term as president. After his retirement, he became an active member of the Fullerton Chapter of the Elks Club; enjoyed many activities including traveling to Europe, annual trips to Hawaii, and a vacation home in Idyllwild. Donald is survived by his wife, Celette of 67 yrs., his four children: Valerie, Melissa, Pamela and Stephen and two grandchildren, Amy and Jeffrey. Memorial service will be 11:30 AM Tuesday December 15, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fullerton.
