Doug Johnson was born in Fresno, California in 1957 to Lowell and Lois Johnson. He was the youngest of 4 children. His siblings are Linda, Donna and Denise, his twin. He grew up in Kingsburg, California and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Cal State University, Fresno. After graduation he made a big move to southern California settling in at Harbor City near his sister Denise. He began a career in the Mortgage industry which carried him through the next few decades.
He married Mary Gaspard in 1990 and moved to Norwalk, California. Four years later they moved to La Habra Heights where he resided until his death on March 19, 2026.
Doug was an adventurer. He loved to go 4-wheeling in the desert and to travel. He and Mary met their goal of visiting all 7 continents. He was the adventure grandpa and loved to encourage the children to climb trees, skateboard and tri-cycle down his steep driveway, jump off the diving board, jump on the pogo stick, walk on stilts and enjoy life (without a net). He also enjoyed baking treats. His family loved grandpa’s goodies. Overall, life with Doug was an adventure.
Doug is survived by his wife Mary, Daughter Michelle, Son James and wife Fleur, grandchildren, Ashlea and husband Daniel, Julissa, Elissa, Elena, Charlie, Sheila and great-grandchildren Paige and Tommy. We love him and will miss him but cherish the warm memories of the adventures we shared with him.
