Gerrit (Van) T. Vander Meer, 97 Aug 2, 1912 " May 10, 2010 Born, Grand Rapids, Mich. to Gerrit John & Ellen Johanna Vander Meer. Moved to Santa Monica, where he met and married his wife. Retired after 35 yrs, as Production Engineer with No. American Rockwell, Autonetics Div., Fullerton. He Built Navy & Air Force Fighter planes, experimental aircraft, Minuteman Missiles, and the B-70 supersonic bomber. Deacon, Elder, tenor soloist in Foursquare & Assembly of God Churches. Preceded in death by parents, sister Marjorie, and wife, Marian. Survived by daughters Dorene Fisher & Diana Yates & 1 grandson, 4 grand-daughters, 5 great-grandsons, and 4 great grand-daughters. Gerrit was a loving father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather that will live in our hearts forever, and we rejoyce that he is with our Father in heaven.
