Freeman, Harry Kenneth, passed away on December 26, 2011 at age 90. He is now joyfully reunited with his beloved wife, Jean, who previously passed away June 9, 2008. Known as Bud to his family and Ken to his friends, he was born in Muskegon Heights, MI on 3/3/1921. He went to Royal Oak High School and left the University of Michigan to join the Marines during WWII, serving in the Pacific. Upon returning from the war, he married Jean Russell Currie and worked in the Ford Automobile factory as an electrician. Following his father (Harry Nathanial Freeman) out to California in, he settled in Anaheim, became a member of IBEW Local 441 and set about raising his family. While working over 35 years as an electrician, he helped with the building of San Onofre Power plant, the Edison Steam Power plant in Huntington Beach, and the original construction of Disneyland. It was a real thrill for us to attend Disneyland as a family on the day before it opened to the public. Upon retirement, he became an avid golfer, golfing twice a week up to a few months ago. He and Jean loved to take their trailer and go camping in the local mountains and travelled across the country together. He was devoted to his family"his wife, children, grandchildren, parents and siblings"loved his country, had very strong principals, and was willing to make sacrifices for the greater good . He is survived by his brother Ted (Millie), sisters Marj and Julie, sons Jeff (Diane) and Dick (Kathie), grandchildren Michael (Julie), Eric (Moniza), Christi, and Brian and great-grandchildren Christopher, Ryan, Zoya, and Lily. He will be missed by all, but we celebrate his life and will always cherish the love and joy he brought to us all.
