

Jan was born in Fullerton, CA on October 31, 1944. She was the daughter of Frank and Geraldine (Edwardson) Jones and the youngest of two girls. She lived most of her life in Placentia and Yorba Linda. She attended Bradford Elementary School and graduated from Valencia High School in Placentia in 1962. She went on to attend Fullerton College for two years.
In 1962 she met Roger Peters, the love of her life, and they were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church on August 22, 1964 and were married 49 years at the time of Roger’s death in 2014. They had three children – Sharon, Brad and Brian ---who grew up in Placentia and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and El Dorado High School.
Jan went to work as a secretary for Autonetics until she retired to be at home with her children. She also worked as a volunteer at St. Joseph’s School where she was honored for her many years of service.
In 2005 Jan and Roger left Placentia and moved to their retirement home in Beaumont where they enjoyed time with their family and friends. Jan was a devoted wife, loving mom, wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all those who knew her.
She enjoyed playing cards and games with her grandchildren, playing canasta with her neighbor group and her marathon sessions with her cousin Delma. The highlight of her life was spending time with Roger on their summer vacations in Maui and Lake Tahoe where they invited family and friends to join them. She was also known to like to play a little joke on those she loved!
Jan is survived by her three children – Sharon (Tim) White, Brad (Courtney) Peters and Brian Peters and her nine grandchildren – Zachary and Trevor White, Jordan, Wyatt and Taylor Peters, Daryn Jepsen, Vanessa Sanchez, Avery and Owen Peters. She is survived by her sister Nancy Renaud and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jan’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Jan was a very caring and generous person who always did things to help others. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. She was a kind and faithful servant – a job well done!
