

John McCoy Schreiner passed away August 26, 2014, at the age of 94. John is survived by his son John C. Schreiner of Anaheim Hills, California, and his daughter Anne L. Schreiner of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by three grandchildren--Rich, Daniel and Anne Bradley, and five great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara Chambers Schreiner, in June, 1994, and his eldest daughter Helen Schreiner Bradley in July, 2013. John and Barbara resided in Chappaqua and Brewster, New York until 1982 when they relocated to Litchfield Park, Arizona. After Barbara's passing in 1994, John continued to live in Litchfield Park AZ until 2008, when he relocated to Denver, Colorado to be near his daughter Anne. More recently John was living in California near his son John. He was a graduate of Yale University Class of 1941, was a pilot with the Army Air Force in World War II transporting cargo over the Burma-China-India Hump , and was an innovative businessman throughout his working career. John lived his life as a true patriot, a devoted family man, and a devout Christian. He was an active member of the Mt. Kisco Presbyterian Church in Mt. Kisco, NY and the First Presbyterian Church of Sun City, Arizona. He maintained great friendships throughout his life"with childhood friends from Crestwood, NY, true friends from his days at Yale University, from his time in the US Army Air Force and while fighting overseas in WWII, friends all over the country from his many transfers and relocations with Union Carbide, wonderful and valued friendships while living in NY and Arizona and golfing at The Wigwam, and with many of his children's good friends in Denver, Anaheim and in the NY area. He so enjoyed his strong relationships with Barbara's family and friends, as well with his sister Betty's family and friends. His children are forever proud of and grateful to him for providing the greatest gift a father can provide--his unfailing love and devotion to his family. A memorial service and celebration of John's life will be held October 13, 2014 at The Kittle House in Chappaqua, NY, and his interment will be at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY, with his wife Barbara. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions may be made to a church or special charity of your choice in John's memory.
