Lee Roy Dotson was born February 7th, 1950 in Bakersfield, CA to Charles William Lee Dotson and Virginia Murril Dotson. Charles and Virginia had a very large family. 3 boys and 6 girls. Lee was the youngest of the boys.
Lee attended public school in Carson, CA and graduated in 1968.
Lee began his career in construction at 19 years old. He continued working in this field to various degrees for different companies and eventually started his own company.
As a teenager Lee raced go carts and did this for several years. That started his passion for Hot Rods and classic cars. He had several different classic cars throughout his life and it brought him a lot of joy.
Lee met his wife Emelie in 1997. Lee always told her it was love at first sight for him and that's where life and adventure began for both of them! They always felt very blessed to have found one another!
Lee loved his NASCAR! He watched them every weekend they were on. He attended several races at Fontana Speedway and loved taking his grandkids and family to stay in the motorhome for a weekend of races. Lee was a social butterfly and would wander around talking to everyone and ended up making some really great friends!
He also loved the Rams and would always wear his Rams jersey to watch the games only to take it off and throw it if they started losing. LOL
Lee was a loving, giving and totally devoted Papa. He was a constant at their sporting events. He was lovingly part of “Reegan’s Grandpa Trio” at her softball games along with her other two grandpas that were always in attendance.
He spent most of his time with his family and grandchildren. Many weekends spent boating at the river, spending time in the mountains or just gathering at home to bbq and hang out. It was all about family!
Trevor, Bryce, Caily and Reegan, Papa lived for you guys and loved you all more than life! What great memories he’s left you all with that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Thank you isn’t enough but THANK YOU for everything Lee Roy. Your unconditional love will always be with us!! We love you and will miss you terribly!
