Marian Elizabeth Brown, born on February 16, 1940, passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 85. Marian was the devoted wife of 68 years to her late husband, Harold Clinton Brown, mother to Dennis Brown and Lee Brown, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Her great-grandchildren affectionately knew her as “Old Grandma,” a name she chose herself with a smile and a wink, reflecting her lifelong sense of humor.
Marian spent the majority of her life in Fullerton, California, where she and Harold built a warm and welcoming home on Green Acre Drive. She was known for her love of the color blue, her zest for travel, and her quick wit. An avid golfer, Marian could often be found on the course enjoying a sunny day and good company. Her travels took her to Maui’s beaches, down scenic rivers on cruises, through historic plantations, and to countless destinations that fed her curiosity and love of adventure. Many of these journeys were shared with her dear friend Janet, whose companionship brought joy and laughter to every trip.
Marian had a no-nonsense strength that was matched by her deep love for her family. She believed in doing things the right way and instilled that same sense of integrity and perseverance in those she loved. At the same time, she knew how to have fun, whether gathering with friends to play Mexican Train, telling a perfectly timed joke, or reminiscing over shared adventures.
She will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her humor, her loyalty to her friends, and her love for her family. Marian’s legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many friends who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest in peace, Marian. You will be greatly missed.
