MARK S. HEISLER March 8, 1948 – June 9, 2020 Beloved husband, brother, uncle, son, co-worker and friend, Mark Stephen Heisler of Huntington Beach, California, was called home to his heavenly mansion on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Missing him dearly are his best friend and wife of 44 years, Donna; sisters, Georgia Heisler and Andrea Melcher (Mark) of San Antonio, Texas; his brothers-in-law Robert Johnson (Linda) of Wildwood, Florida, and Clayton Johnson of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; nephews and nieces William Johnson and James Johnson of San Antonio, Texas; Capt. Trenton Melcher of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Caroline Melcher of Nashville, Tennessee, and Courtney Melcher of San Antonio, Texas. Also surviving are his aunt, Judy Stauner (Greg) of St. Charles, Ill. and many cousins, co-workers and friends.
An Illinois native and graduate of Anaheim High and Fullerton College, Mark was renowned for his work in the wire and cable industry. He was a top salesman for nearly 50 years for Storm Products Co. and Whitmor Wirenetics and was to begin a position with Silver State Wire and Cable on Monday, June 8. His customers and co-workers alike knew him for his incredible ability to forge relationships – often introduced with his signature See’s lollipops and a good joke.
His quick wit and wicked sense of humor brought laughter to everyone he met. He always had a ready joke or a line to quote from a WC Fields, Laurel & Hardy or Three Stooges episode. He lived his life large and loved to bowl, was a fixture at Monopoly tournaments, and at casino tables. Another of Mark’s passions was his love of vehicles. He couldn’t be missed while driving “Bob,” a vintage Army troop carrier festooned with American flags, proudly displaying his love of country. “Bob” also brought delight to the kids who were able to hitch a ride. He also drove Cobras, Corvettes, Mustangs, and VW Beetles, along with an occasional motorcycle and ATV. He obtained his private pilot’s license even before he learned to drive.
Mark is predeceased by his beloved parents, George and Bette Lou (nee Nyberg) Heisler, and his grandparents, George and Dorothea (nee Blanck) Heisler and Walter and Alice (nee Mooney) Nyberg.
The celebration of Mark’s life will be held as soon as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Please visit McAulay and Wallace (www.mcaulaywallace.com) for updated information. Memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s name to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Orange, California, or to Samaritan’s Purse.
