Maureen Steele

Maureen was born on December 10th 1941 in Newtownabbey Northern Ireland. The daughter of parents’ Robert Gordon and Martha Hogg Gordon.

Maureen married John Steele on August 11th1962 in Belfast Northern Ireland. They first moved to Hamilton Ontario Canada before settling in Southern California where they raised their son and two daughters, and made many long lasting friends. Maureen and John celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary before John was called to heaven on September 21st1996.

Maureen loved spending time with her family and friends at parties, barbeques, and holidays. She also loved to travel. Some of her favorite places being Las Vegas and Big Bear Lake. Maureen also enjoyed playing weekly bingo with her friends the “Bingo Babes”.

Remaining to cherish Maureen’s memory are son: Roy Steele, daughters: Colleen Steele Hamilton and Allison Steele Perez. Grandchildren: Alexandra Hamilton, Jonathan Hamilton, Corina Perez and Genevieve Perez. Son-in-law: Macario Perez, and many more in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews in Northern Ireland, England, and Australia.

A memorial for Maureen will be held at a later date with more information to be released. Interment to be scheduled at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana California with her husband John Steele.

Maureen will truly be missed. To know her was to love her. She was a great woman to all that knew her. She had the best personality and sense of humor, and she loved everyone she met. Maureen was our favorite redhead. Until we meet again, we love you.
