Melvin L. Barnes, 87, of Fullerton, A native of Norwalk, Ohio, graduate of Denison University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma. During World War II he served for three years in Army Airways Communications. Employed in Marketing by Shell Oil Company for 36 years. Local affiliations included Hacienda Golf Club and Placentia Presbyterian Church. Survivors: Wife, Myra; sons, Edward and George; Daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and James Whiteaker, and granddaughter, Rebecca, of Santee, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Rachel and Jonathan Leo, and their son, Caleb of Spokane, WA; sister, Bertie Barnes of Norwalk, Oio. Services were held privately.
