Extrañaremos a Miguel.
Hector Miguel Gómez Quezada was born June 26, 1962 in Totatiche, Jalisco, Mexico. He passed in peace Monday, October 5, 2020, at the age of 58. Son to Maria del Rosario Quezada and Salvador Gómez, he was the 5th of 8 siblings. Miguel was a son, brother, uncle, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and a funny, humorous, and good hearted friend. Preceded in death by his mother Maria del Rosario Quezada and father Salvador Gomez. He is survived by all of his siblings: Oralia, Jose Luis, Salvador, Adolfo, Martin, Arturo, and Irma; his former wife of 32 years of marriage Maria Delgado; his three daughters: Gabriella Gómez, Veronica Villa (Gómez) and Stephanie Gómez; his two grandchildren: Luna de Aztlán and Teocalli, as well as countless family members who mourn his passing.
He enjoyed the outdoors so much so that he dedicated 20+ years to working with trees. It being a taxing job, he would still volunteer to be on-call to work during heavy storms and fires to ensure the safety of the community: its people and buildings while maintaining the integrity of the natural surroundings.
Miguel would come home exhausted from his labor intensive work. He enjoyed relaxing on his recliner chair with the tv on and with either a large cup of coffee or a cold-one in his hand. He was a man of few words, however found the time to listen to his daughters and genuinely cared about what they had to say.
You were sure to find a stash of sweets tucked into his recliner, back seat of his truck, or hidden on the top shelf of the pantry. He was known as “Panes” because of his love for bread. He enjoyed sharing candy with his grandchildren to get them hyped and ready to play for hours.
His contagious smile livened the room. He would laugh and tell jokes with those present. You could be sure he had some advice to share especially for his daughters and all of his nieces and nephews.
Miguel will be missed dearly. May God have Miguel in his presence. May he rest in peace and watch over his family.
Rest in peace Hector Miguel Gómez Quezada.
