

Narjit Brar Singh, age 85, a longtime resident of Anaheim, California, peacefully passed away in hospice on February 6, 2022, at his Anaheim home, where he has happily lived with his wife Patricia since 1975.
Narjit was born on January 6, 1937, in Bolangir, Orissa, India to Ajit Brar Singh and Harcharan Kaur Grewal. At age of 4, Narjit moved to Faridkot, Punjab, where he was raised by his paternal uncle. He held high standards throughout his school years. He attended Moga College and completed Pre-med in Patiala. In 1955 at the age of 18, he attended Fresno State, in California, with an Engineering Major. He continued education in engineering fields and joined various groups. As an Engineer, his employers included Magnavox R&D, Hughes Aircraft, Douglas, and McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. Throughout his years, Narjit was active in the Sikh Community in Southern California. With Sikh leaders, he participated in upstarting Gurdwaras. He received his master’s degree at Western State Law School and earned a J.D. upon graduating in 1984. Narjit opened a legal Mediation Service in the mid-1990s, which continued into the mid-2010s. During the past 20 years, Narjit participated in a senior writing class where he wrote personal stories covering his childhood in Punjab, essays on his experiences in the United States, a romantic novel, and reference books. Narjit loved his family. He encouraged others to accomplish their goals. He was social, enjoyed guests, and was an excellent cook. Narjit and Patricia enjoyed traveling, sharing his writings, and her interest in music.
Narjit was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ajit Singh and Harcharan Kaur, Brother Surjit Singh, Sister Harbhajan Grewal, Sister Surinder Ram Singh, and Sister Sutwant Gill.
Narjit is survived by Patricia, his wife of 47 years; his Sister Baljit Bath; his daughter Deborah Singh, his son Paul Singh (Chris), and his son Raj Singh (Tina); his grandsons Dane, Shane, and Collin, and granddaughter Calli; and extended family and loved ones throughout the United States, India, UK, Canada, Zambia, and New Zealand.
A mortuary family gathering took place at 10:00 am on February 8, 2022, at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary in Fullerton, California, cremation followed. Family and Friends gathered at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Buena Park, for Services and Langar. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to a local Sikh Charity or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (https://www.michaeljfox.org/).
