

Norma Jean Preble, age 92, passed away peacefully after an extended illness early in the morning on May 30, 2020 at her home in Fullerton, CA. She was predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth Jackson Preble. Jeanne was a longtime Fullerton resident and an active member of the Unitarian Universalist church of Fullerton for twenty years.
Jeanne was born April 11, 1928 in Springfield, Illinois and was an only child of Owen Renzo Nottingham and Iva Iowa Nottingham nee Thomason.
Jeanne is survived by her three children, Deborah Jeanne Hansen of Spokane, Washington, Kimberlee Joanne Preble-Voisan of Chino Hills, California, and John Michael Preble of Temecula, California, and six grandchildren; Samantha Taylor Rocha, Alexander James “AJ” Voisan, Jacob Andrew Preble, Lauren Kaylee Preble , Erin Hansen Quinn and Lucas Carlton Hansen.
As a young girl Jeanne took singing and dancing lessons and enjoyed sharing about her time as a young woman when she toured with the USO, entertaining American troops.
Jeanne always had a passion for helping others. She returned to school as an adult and earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology at California State University Fullerton. She went on to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
She worked as a School Psychologist/Counselor in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District for many years, before transitioning into her career as a fulltime private practice therapist. She continued to work in that capacity into her 80’s. As a Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice, she worked closely with a local battered women’s shelter, the Victim Witness Assistance program and the Parents of Murdered Children organization.
Jeanne always had a special place in her heart for animals and supported various animal rights organizations throughout the years.
A private family service will be held at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton.
