I will never forget Bob . This is a long overdue thank you to his legacy at Tessmann Planetarium . There , his vibrant energy shone through the cosmos and the projected stars and constellations onto the domed ceiling above . I absolutely loved his animated portrayals of gravity , how the more mass you have the more gravity you have , and our appreciation for Saggitarius A , our supermassive black hole in the center of our spiral galaxy , the Milky Way , and our cosmic address in the Virgo Supercluster . 

Bob inspired and excited many about astronomy . With an amazing background where he used to publish manuals for professional telescopes , he  taught scores of students of all ages , children , adults and seniors to appreciate the vastness of our universe .  My whole family and many of my friends have had the pleasure and privilege  to meet him , and he even gave me an opportunity to play my harp there as the resident artist for Tessmann Planetarium .  He has met many notable celebrities who have made films at Tessmann . He truly was our celebrity here in the heart of Santa Ana . 

Without Bob , I would not have earned my A.A in Mathematics and Science from Santa Ana College , without his encouragement , and now I'm in my fifth year of Marine Science as a life science enthusiast at Orange Coast College , and he is my inspiration . 

Thank you Bob and may you forever rest in celestial 
peace in our amazing universe .

Grace and mine condolences to his family. Bob ŵas my neighbor in Fullerton. He was a very bright and decent man. God bless your spirit Bob now that you are with your beloved Beverly.

A fond memory. Bob was interviewing for a technical writing position at Odetics, a high-tech-for-the-time broadcast video  equipment manufacturer located in Anaheim, CA, a block away from Disneyland. Odetics was a cool company, and had a "fun committee" that would schedule events for the associates (we weren't call employees), and it so happened that day the fun event was to see how many associates could get into the pool at the same time. Yes, there was a swimming pool on site. So in the middle of the interview the time arrived, and I said I have something I have to do now. Do you want to come along?
So I pointed him to the pool while I went into the locker room (yes, there was a locker room, I think, but this was more than 40 years ago, so I encourage you to be skeptical of its accuracy), changed into my swimsuit, and joined maybe 30 or 40 others (ditto above) in the pool, splashed around a bit, and then got dressed and we continued the interview. Later he told me when he saw that, he knew he had to work there. I recommended he be hired, and we worked on-site together for several years. All this before his transition into the Astronomy Superman that he was.

Bob Menn was a big inspiration to me and encouraged me to push myself in the educational outreach work in astronomy at Meade Instruments where we both worked, that we often did together for an online audience. 

Bob was not only one of the most gifted planetarium presenters (Tessmann Planetarium at Santa Ana Community College), but a nationally recognized participant in the NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador Program. 

Bob was not only brilliant, but he was a gentleman, and he is surely missed.
