Robert Vernon Schwartz

Bob Schwartz passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022 in Fullerton, CA. He was born in Chicago, Illinois where he attended St. Josaphat’s School for his primary education. Bob earned his high school diploma from DePaul High School and went on to earn a bachelor degree in Philosophy from DePaul University. While serving in the Air Force, he earned a master’s degree in History from the University of Memphis, Tennessee. Bob was a career Air Force Officer. He met his wife Anita when he was a Lieutenant stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ.  His 26-year career took them to assignments all over the world. After his overseas assignments, Bob had a second career in the aerospace industry at TRW and The Aerospace Corporation. After retiring in 2016, Bob and Anita moved from their Cypress home, where they had lived for over 30 years, to Morningside in Fullerton. Bob was 84 years old and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anita Schwartz, daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Eric Ibara, granddaughters Emily and Elise, and sister Carolyn Schwartz.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 22nd at St. Juliana Falconieri Church, 1316 N Acacia Avenue in Fullerton. Riverside National Cemetery will be Bob’s final resting place. The burial will be at Noon on Wednesday, March 30th. In lieu of flowers, Bob’s family asks that donations be made to K9s For Warriors (K9sForWarriors.org) which provides rescued service dogs to veterans.
