

Ronald Charles McVicar, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 21, 2024, at the age of 77, after a long journey of 18 years with Parkinson’s disease. Born in San Pedro, California on November 30, 1946, Ronald lived a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
A proud veteran, Ronald served five years of active duty in the Navy, followed by 20 years in the reserves, retiring as a Captain. His military service instilled in him values of discipline, leadership, and commitment that he carried into every aspect of his life.
Ronald was married to his devoted wife, Carol Ann, for over 55 years. Their enduring love and partnership were a testament to their deep bond, and together they built a life filled with joy, adventure, and family.
Ronald graduated from California State University of Long Beach and went on to earn his MBA from the University of Southern California. Professionally, Ronald was very proud of his civilian career as a CFO for multiple companies, where he applied his keen intellect and strong work ethic. His dedication to his profession earned him the respect of colleagues and he found great fulfillment in his contributions to the business world.
Ron’s sense of humor was a defining part of his personality; he had a unique gift for making people feel at ease and bringing joy to any gathering. He loved to dance, often lighting up any room with his joyful spirit and spontaneous moves. His ability to bring laughter to those around him was one of his most cherished traits, and he took great pleasure in spending time with his kids, his friends and his kid’s friends, sharing stories and creating memories.
Ronald dedicated his life to his family, who meant the world to him. As a father, he instilled values of integrity and resilience in his children, always encouraging them to follow their dreams. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he took immense joy in sharing time with them.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Carol Ann; his children, Brian (Julie), Kimberly (Ray), and Jeffrey; and his grandchildren, Brennan, Kayla, Devan and Charlotte, as well as numerous friends and extended family members who will remember him fondly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, honoring Ronald’s legacy of compassion and generosity.
