He was born in Lebanon, Kentucky on April 25, 1948. Ron graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and earned bachelor’s degree. He married the love of his life, Carol Sue Smith on June 13, 1970. He worked as a contractor in the plumbing, heating and air conditioning industry and owned his own business, Alstate Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning. Ron was a member of the Elks and the Eagles and a huge fan of the University of Kentucky basketball team.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, children, Alison Norquist and Michael Smith, grandchildren, Zachary Norquist, Kyle Norquist and Sara Smith and siblings Craig Smith, LaMonda Smith Simmons and Leland Smith. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Santa Clara de Asis Church.
