Sunny Sue Woodruff Henderson went home to be with Our Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 27, 2021, Palm Sunday. She was 74. Mom was at home in Santa Ana, surrounded by all her immediate family. Sunny was ultimately diagnosed with Amyloidosis. After struggling for a year to get some answers to what was happening to her body and health the doctors were able to finally pinpoint this rare disease.
Mom was born in Los Angeles on April 8, 1946, her parents were Jackson Woodruff, father and June Woodruff, mother. Her siblings Jackson Woodruff, brother, Jefferson Woodruff, brother and Jameson Woodruff, brother. She married on, May 28, 1965 to Clay Joseph Henderson in Downey, California. Graduated from Warren High School.
Sunny was an interior designer, an amazing creator of beautiful intimate environments. She had her own business, Room For Improvement started in 1976 and retired around 2005. Sunny was raised in Downey and Big Bear, California. She spent eighteen months in Guadalajara, Mexico as well. She also lived in Fullerton and Santa Ana, California. In Sunny’s youth she was quite the active redhead. She rode horses, skied, and she was a dancer. She loved to read and explore. She was named Downey queen in the early 1960’s. This took her to Guadalajara, Mexico. Sunny was very involved in her church. She started an amazing program called Titus 2. A mentoring of older and younger women. In her community of Fullerton she was very involved in education and cultural enhancement. She was in NCL.
Sunny had a huge heart for her family and friends. She was always helping anyway she could with her talents. She created so many lovely and beautiful projects over the years too numerous to count. She wanted to get to know everything about the people in her life, sometimes by asking all the questions, and I do mean all. Ha ha. She loved the Lord with all her heart and it was her passion that people know Christ. She made sure that she imparted a gospel message to others so they may know God.

Mom, Sunny, has left us with a lasting presence of her, through her God given talent of design, and ability to create an environment of love and comfort. A place we desire to seek sanctuary and flourish. Her diligence in life was evident in all things. Trying to encompass one’s whole life and capture all aspects is a difficult task. Looking at all the pictures and recounting the memories is priceless. Remembering my mom, your friend, in any and all regards is pure joy. Whatever your experience or interaction with her, I guarantee it made a lasting impression.
To sum up my mom in three words is difficult, we decided to each come up with one; Dad: Illuminating, Chris: Genuine Emily: Passionate
