Thomas John Clements, 82, of Orange, CA., passed away on September 14, 2025. After a year long battle with esophageal cancer, which he fought with a cheerful and positive spirit. Never complaining once. He was surrounded by family and friends in his last days and felt loved.
Tom or Tommy was born October 31, 1942 in Teaneck, NJ, to Leanore and Herbert Clements. Tom grew up in Pompton Plains, NJ. He attended Rider University from 1962-1964. On August 21, 1965 he married Lorraine Theresa Hirn. This was the beginning of a devoted 60 year marriage filled with love, family and adventure.
Tom was a true entrepreneur and visionary. After moving to California in 1972 and working for Boise Cascade he followed his dreams. He built and ran Bessie Walls restaurant in Anaheim and in 1980 founded Pacific Western Sales. A packaging company he led for 35 years with energy and passion until his retirement in 2015. His dedication and leadership left a lasting mark on the packaging industry and on all who worked with him. His greatest pride was watching his son-in-law Lyndsey, and grandsons Justin and Brennin carry forward with the family business in the same spirit of entrepreneurship and hard work. Tom loved to travel, especially with his best friend and favorite person, Lorraine. Visiting Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and nearly every corner of the United States. He cherished family vacations to Hawaii, 4th of July in Lake Havasu, and time with friends in Las Vegas. He was a born again Christian who truly had the heart of Jesus. He loved giving advice and helping those less fortunate. Above all, Tom was a devoted Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great PopPop. His kindness, generosity, and deep faith touched countless lives.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine; daughter Kristine Clements Tidwell (son-in-law Lyndsey); daughter Karlea Clements; sister Barbara Clay Williams (Husband Brian): grandchildren, Justin Tidwell (wife Brittany) and Brennin Tidwell (wife Catherine); Ashley Clements, Alyssa and Aidan Hernandez; Great grandchildren, Hudson & Delilah Tidwell, Niko Ingot, & Nevaeh Najera. He was preceded in death by his infant son David Thomas Clements, his parents and his cousin Doris Lynn (Clements) Kratzer.
To say that Tom will be missed is not enough. He was larger than life. His absence is deeply felt. His legacy of love and faith lives on in his family. He died trusting in God’s promise of everlasting life in Heaven. Until we meet him again, we hold tight to his memory and thank God for the gift of his life.
