She left us on December 20, 2019 while sleeping peacefully in her room at Premier Healthcare, where she had been a resident for fifteen years due to a stroke.
She was the beloved mother of Joseph Faia and Sue Evaro, proud grandmother of Jonathan Faia, Anthony Faia, Matthew Faia, Jamie Smith, and Timothy White. She was a great grandmother of Chazmin Kehnemann, Paige Faia, and Kelsi Faia.
Willa is predeceased by her parents William and Joyce Winchester, husband Joseph Faia, and brother Jim Winchester. She is survived by her brother, William Winchester, and sister, Wilma Bethea.
Willa lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and worker in the retail sector. She served as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and in her younger years served as President of the Social Club at Orange Tree Mobile Home Park.
Willa loved being social, traveling home to Louisiana, and spent many days making crafts and helping in church. A farm girl at heart, gardening was always her passion.
Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Willa's life will be held at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary at 902 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, California 92832, on Friday, December 27, 2019 beginning at 1 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 Fairhaven Ave. Santa Ana, California 92705.
We welcome flowers or donations to the Stroke Recovery Center, 2800 E. Alejo Rd., Palm Springs, California 92262.
