Betty Ann McCarthy, 89, a 30 year resident of Gaithersburg, Maryland passed away on February 25, 2023. She is survived by her five daughters: Lisa Ring (John), Susan Long (David), Leslie Brown (Gary), Kathy Miller (Frank), and Colleen Calderon, grandchildren Christopher, Jake, Samantha and Cory, Keith, Kevin, and Thair.
Betty graduated from the University of Michigan and a member of Eta Phi Sorority. She and her family lived in several different states as her children were growing up. She performed a variety of volunteer duties for various charitable organizations and loved her job as an office manager at a special needs school where she worked until her retirement.
Betty was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed golf, reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a strong and selfless woman who will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Our Lady of the Visitation in Germantown. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association.
