It is with great sadness that the family of Carolyn Lee Drach, 77 of Potomac, Maryland announce she passed away peacefully with her husband and other family by her side after an almost 10-year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Elmer G. Artzberger and Leona Sara Ablett Artzberger.
Carolyn graduated from South Hills High School in 1965 and started working for Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh shortly thereafter. She received her bachelor’s degree in business finance from George Washington University in 1988. She worked for the Federal Reserve as a financial analyst for more than 40 years.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, and two brothers. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ronald Drach and their daughters Tiffany McPeak (Brian) and Amber Drach (Ryan Kaminske); grandchildren Clark and Quinn McPeak; nephews Richard and Kenneth Artzberger; and many extended family members. Most important to her was being a loving wife, mother, and grammy.
Carolyn enjoyed traveling, especially to Colorado to ski and Florida to enjoy sun, sand, and family time. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. She looked forward to watching the Steelers every Sunday sporting her black and gold and yelling at the TV “get em, get em, get em, go go go!” Once she became grammy, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, always attending their sporting events and other activities.
