

David Vanover passed suddenly at home on December 17, 2020. He was born in Washington, DC, on December 3, 1962, he grew up in Baltimore, MD, and he lived in Arlington, VA, before settling down in Washington, DC. A gifted artist and metalsmith, David was a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and he studied at the Creative Metalworks School of Design in Kensington, MD. He enjoyed cooking, bowling, entertaining and playing games with friends where his renown competitive nature would be on full display.
Seventeen years ago, he found the love of his life in David Flynn and they have been married for the last 7 years. In addition to his husband, David’s survivors include his mother Cookie Koczorowski (Nee Faulkner) and her husband Michael of Perry Hall, MD, his father Tom Vanover, and his brother Allen Vanover of Baltimore, MD.
There will be no public service, but friends are encouraged to donate to the
American Heart Association or the Whitman Walker Foundation in lieu of flowers.
In the Spring of 2021, there will be a celebration of his life where friends and family can remember and honor a life truly well lived.
