Mrs. Doris Virginia Whitney, 95 of Rockville, MD passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021. Born on April 28, 1926 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Archibald and Mary Jane Speiden McClay. Doris was a legal secretary with the Federal Government. She was the beloved wife of the late Carlton Edward Whitney; loving mother of Susan D. Whitney, Joan Whitney Grinder, Nancy Evelyn Whitney and the late Carolyn Beth Denbow; grandmother of Robert James Mattera, Jr., Matthew Gregory Mattera, Jacqueline Elizabeth Whitney and Jenna Gabrielle Denbow; great-grandmother of Angelina Giovanna Mattera, Sophia Isabella Mattera, Robert James Mattera III, Elijah Douglas Staebler and Owen James Whitney-Andres.
A graveside service and interment will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, MD on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
