On June 26, 2022, Evangelina “Lily” Espinosa was tenderly called to rest in the arms of her first love and personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She dedicated her life to building a legacy of Christ-centered devotion and loving service to her family and community. Lily was a doting wife to her late husband, Emilio. Her memory lives on through the blessed lives of her children, Marlyn (Jaime) Dellosa, Meriam (Jorge) Villasenor, Milony (Danilo) Ching, Emelli (Erwin) Risos, and Lemuel Gerard (Maria Lourdes) Espinosa; grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Tumala, Kris (Cardinelli) Dellosa, Abby Villasenor, Lauren Villasenor, Dan Ching, Tara Ching, Zenas Ching, Kyle Risos, Todd Risos, Francheska Risos, Shalom Espinosa, and Rapha Espinosa; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Dellosa, Noah Dellosa, Colson Tumala and Kaela Tumala.
Growing up and through the years, Lily always had the love and support of her brothers and sisters. Three of her seven siblings, Trinidad Salomon, Dominador Salomon, and Eugenio Salomon, preceded her. She is survived by her sisters Lorenza (Samson) Cadiente, Adelina (Rene) Basilio, Nenita (John) Richardson, and brother Eduardo (Saludia+) Salomon. From this formidable support system, Lily also received respect and affection from her many nieces and nephews.
Lily lived simply and purely. If there was one thing she knew and understood, it was to love and serve God with all her heart and soul. She never wavered from her faith, trusting God and His perfect timing. In her active years, she was an elementary school teacher and built lasting relationships with her students. She also participated in many church ministries, including the prison ministry, and showed Christ’s redemptive promise to the broken and downtrodden. She embodied Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,”
Lily lived a full life because she found and fulfilled her purpose. She clung to her steadfast faith, which made all the difference. Moreover, as witnessed by her family and friends, everyone she loved, loved her in return--a blessing undoubtedly envied by many.
