On Saturday, June 17, 2017, James Tsung-wu Han, of Rockville, Maryland passed away peacefully after complications from a brave battle with Lymphoma. James attended National Taiwan University, earned a Masters at the University of Toronto, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at UC-Berkeley. He retired from the US NRC after 30 years and became a patented inventor. He laughed loudly and often, enjoyed Chinese buffets, family trips to Hawaii, and playing with his grandsons. James is survived by his wife of 50 years, Duan Han; son Kaichee Han; daughter and son-in-law Kaiann & Matthew Drance; grandsons Lucas & Gabriel Drance; siblings and spouses Kenneth & Jackie Hahn; Wanda & Raymond Chen; Judy & William Lee; Yih-wu & Yu-ying Han; Thomas & Jeannie Han; brother-in-law Philip Walls; sister-in-law Te-Chia Shao.
