Joseph Donald Marx, Sr.

Mr. Joseph D. Marx, Sr., 63 of Rockville, MD passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his residence.  He was born in Ft. Bragg, NC on September 21, 1953 to the late John D., Sr. and Esther R. Merritt Marx.  Mr. Marx was a Plumber and after retiring he was a Child Care Provider.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, gardening and watching old Western Movies.   Mr. Marx is survived by his wife Donna Marx of 42 years; his children Joseph Marx, Jr. (wife-Irma) and Jason Marx (wife-Shannon); grandchildren Joseph Diego, Jonathan, Autumn, and Avery; brother John Marx, Jr.; and sisters Pam Miller, Jackie Fairbanks, and Bobbi Millsap.

Visitation will be held at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm where a funeral service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to Holy Cross Home Health Care and Hospice, 10720 Columbia Pike, 2nd Floor (ATTN Nursing), Silver Spring, MD 20901, or the American Cancer Society.

 Family and friends are invited to gather after the Service at the home of Joe Jr. and Irma, 2308 Ring Street, Rockville, MD.
