Joyce Annette Cavatoni

Joyce Annette Cavatoni, 83, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, in Alexandria, Virginia, leaving behind a legacy of love and unwavering support.

Joyce was born in Laurel, Maryland, to Philip Everett Souder and Edna Arabella (Reely) Souder. She was married to Roland John Cavatoni, who preceded her in death.

At an early age, she was a gifted dancer including tap, jazz, and ballet. She had a love for horses and riding throughout her life which included attending point to point races, fox hunts or simply riding with her friends.

Joyce was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted herself fully to her family, always offering encouragement, comfort, and strength. Her love was steady and unconditional, and her children knew they could always rely on her presence and guidance. Whether it was traveling to international locations to visit her children, attending births, baptisms or graduations or simply spending the holidays, she was happiest spending time with her extended family.

Joyce is survived by her children, Philip John Cavatoni and his wife Courtney Miller Cavatoni, Stephany Anne Cavatoni and her husband Juan Fernando Cardenas, Joseph Roland Cavatoni and his wife Janice Cavatoni, and by her beloved grandchildren, Roland Charles Cavatoni, Sara Courtney Cavatoni, Stella Annette Cardenas, Lucas Juan Cardenas, Giovanni Francisco Cavatoni, and Joseph Carlo Cavatoni, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Joyce Annette Cavatoni will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Her life will be celebrated at 11:00 am, January 24, 2026, at a graveside service at Parklawn Memorial Park and Menorah Gardens, 12800 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853.
