

Leticia was born in Managua, Nicaragua on July 30,1914 to Carmen and Robertino MuñozOrantes.
Leticia was mother to Maria Antonieta Ward. She raised her daughter with love and devotion in El Salvador as a single mother. Leticia also helped raise her brother Alfonso’s five children, brother Robert’s three children and cousin Angela’s two children. To her family was extremely important and valuable.
As a seamstress and businesswoman, Leticia was known for her determination, devotion, detail oriented, strong character and for being extremely organized and always prepared. Her hobbies included cooking; she was well known for her black beans and delicious food. Her home and table were always open to everyone and she made sure you left with a full belly. Traveling all central America, Mexico, and North America, visiting several states. She enjoyed learning other cultures and customs. Exercising, she loved to take long walks, but also exercised to stay in good health and shape. Sowing/Fashion, her lifelong passion, learning to sow on her own at a young age and continuously working at her craft. She was an avid embroiderer. At one point gaining her the ability to be the personal seamstress to the wife of the President of Nicaragua. Leticia was most proud of becoming an American citizen at the age of 100. She loved this country and the endless possibilities and opportunities it provided, with hard work and determination. Something she passed down to her family. This was and will continue to be her legacy.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria Antonieta Ward and her husband Lawrence Ward, grand-daughter Leticia Macias and her husband Damien Macías, great-grandchildren Damien, Gabriel and Olivia Macias and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephew.
Aside from the children and great-grandchildren she doted on, Leticia is survived by her cousins Amanda Diaz and Teresa Robles. Also, Patricia Dunn who she thought of as a second daughter.
Services will be held at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 on July 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be live-streamed, Click Here.
