Loretta was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and was the fourteenth, and last surviving member, of a family of fifteen children to Joseph and Margaret Drab (nee Gregor). She married Leo H. Snyder of Butler, PA in 1963. Their journey of military life took them around the country from living on Navajo Indian reservations in Arizona and New Mexico to major cities, such as New Orleans, Phoenix and Washington, D.C. No matter where they landed, she made each duty station a loving home for her family with all her grace and love. Her beautiful gardens are where she found comfort, purpose, and peace.
She was preceded in death by both parents, all fourteen of her brothers and sisters, Leo, her husband of 59 years, and her son Joseph. She is survived by her daughter Gretchen Rimkus (Mark), grandsons Zachary Rimkus and Alex Rimkus (Amalia), great granddaughters Ahleiana and Adelina Rimkus, as well as a large extended family.
A memorial mass at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church will be held on Monday, July 3rd, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Internment at Arlington National Cemetery will be private.
