Mary Ann Johnston

Born on November 24, 1936 in Olean, NY, Mary Ann was the daughter of Edna and Roy Dwaileebe. Mary Ann was a 1954 graduate of Olean High School and became a Sister of the Franciscan Order-St. Elizabeth's Convent in Allegheny, NY. After starting down that path, Mary Ann later chose to marry and raise a family.

On September 5, 1960, Mary Ann married her high school sweetheart, Phillip A. Johnston, who survives. Over nearly 62 years. their marriage produced 7 children. Mary Ann loved laughter and she enjoyed being creative in both music, cuisine and in life. She turned that creativity into her own calligraphy-invitation business, which she happily ran for 20 years. All while serving her church during services as well as club events.

Mary Ann is survived by her 7 children - David (Melissa), Paul (Laura), Phillip (Kim), Mark (James), Elizabeth, Andrea (Bob) and Dan - and 4 grandchildren.

Friends may call at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9000 Warfield Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20882 on Wednesday July 13, 2022 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30A.M. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 A.M.

Interment will take place at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany, NY on Friday July 15, 2022
