Molly was born on February 18, 1942 in Lilly, Pennsylvania. A woman of grace and warmth, Molly was known for her bubbly personality, ever-present smile, and her ability to encourage others. She was selfless, loving, and devoted to her family and community. Her talkative nature and genuine interest in people meant she never met a stranger and was always making new friends. A proud cheerleader at Lilly-Washington High School, Molly carried her infectious spirit throughout her life. She further honed her grace and poise at Grace Downs Finishing School. Molly was a stay-at-home mom who poured love and dedication into raising her two daughters. She was an involved and doting Nana to her five Grandchildren, cheering and supporting them through every accomplishment. Her nurturing ways led her to work as a pre-school teacher, swim instructor, PTA lead, and classroom volunteer, roles in which she shaped many young lives. Molly was a devout parishioner at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olney, MD where she served as a eucharistic minister, lector, and member of the church choir. She was deeply involved in her community, providing and serving meals for S.O.M.E. (So Others Might Eat) in Washington, DC, and as a member of the Ladies of the Knights with the local and state chapters of the Knights of Columbus Catholic Charity. She also served many years as Chief Judge for the Maryland board of elections. One of Molly's enduring passions was music, particularly that of Elvis Presley, of whom she was a lifelong superfan. At the start of an Elvis song she would reliably sigh and say, “Oh, don’t you just love Elvis?” She also enjoyed swimming, a passion she shared with others through her role as a swim instructor and lifeguard. Molly was preceded in death by her parents Terrence and Margaret McDermott, brothers, Teddy and Colbert McDermott, and her sister, Carol Sysak. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill Krumenacker; daughters Lynn Ruff (Adam) and Becky Haldeman (Paul); and grandchildren Mary, Will and Libby Ruff, and Jon and Michael Haldeman. A Funeral Mass in Molly's honor will be held on February 19, 2026 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Gaithersburg, MD. Internment will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Clarksburg, MD. Molly's life was a testament to her boundless love, her unwavering faith, and her dedication
to her community. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her kindness and warmth. She will be deeply missed.
