Paula Jeanne Schmidt

Paula was the loving mother of David Kennedy, also of Derwood, Maryland, and the doting and proud grandmother of Sean Kennedy and Caitlin Kennedy.  Paula is also survived by her sisters Brenda Meyers and Donna Nemeyer, her Aunt Vivian Dykes, and adoring nieces and nephews.

A talented artist, Paula created stained glass windows and dinnerware, and taught others how to make stained glass art.  Paula was an extraordinary baker, and all who knew her well, enjoyed her cakes and homemade candies, especially her Christmas candies.  Paula's green thumb resulted in beautiful roses, delicious tomatoes and a delightful garden.  Many family members are kept warm by Paula's beautiful crocheted blankets. 

Always with deep kindness and respect for others, she was fortunate to have many beloved friends and neighbors.  Her passion for animals was most focused on her cherished dog Niko. 

Paula worked for many years as an accounting manager and corporate controller in the steel industries in Oregon and Tennessee.  She attended both Indiana University and Portland State University. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 2 pm at MillCreekParishUnitedMethodistChurch, 7101 Horizon CourtDerwood, Maryland 20855.
