Peter R. Jones

On Thursday, June 16, 2017, Peter R. Jones of Montgomery Village, MD.  Beloved husband of Mary Jones; Loving father of Cynthia McClave, Heather Jones and Laura Brennan; Son of the late Thomas Hudson Jones and Mildred Dudley Jones; Brother of Kim, June and Anne Jones.  Also survived by his grandson Hudson Brennan. 

Peter was a devoted husband and a proud father and grandfather--he would talk about his three girls often, praising their accomplishments and remembering the happy times of their childhood including trips to the beach, swim team meets and outings to historical sites in and around DC. His love and dedication to his wife Mary was the grounding force in his life.  

Peter had a long and successful career in property management. He was an avid reader (especially historical novels) a passionate golfer, and an enthusiastic conversationalist--he loved to discuss politics! And with a memory like a steel trap, he was undefeated at the game Jeopardy 

As a DC native, he was a serious Redskin fan, and he was connected to a large network of supportive (and comedic!) friends he grew up with in Georgetown. A jokester at heart, you could always count on Peter for a quick-witted comment or a jovial quip.  

He is missed and remembered with love.  

A Mass of Christian will be offered at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church,11701 Clopper Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.
