Raymond Blozis, 95, died peacefully October 17, 2022, at home. An Illinoisan, he was known for making friends of everyone he met. His life-defining experience was U.S. Navy service in World War II Pacific. Seventy-five years later, he still talked about it daily.
After the war, he worked as assistant to the Bishop of Guam, then held a leadership post in the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. for the rest of his career, visiting all states and a hundred countries.
Survivors include his wife, Jolene; a sister, Clara, a Dominican nun; and cousins.
A memorial service was held at 10 am October 27th at St. Stephens Catholic Church.
Interment is being planned for Arlington National Cemetery.
