

Robert James Campbell, age 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 18, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Lynn Campbell; his sons, Robert “Bobby,” Ryan, and Kevin (Karen); his cherished granddaughter, Ozara Campbell; and his sister, Sue Campbell-Merritt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Campbell and Irene Pizzatola, and his brother, Frank.
Bob was known for his affectionate nature, dedication, and easy-going spirit. A talented photographer with a keen eye for detail, he found beauty in nature and captured it through his lens.
After a distinguished career as a forensic photographer with the United States Postal Service, Bob retired with numerous accolades, including five Classic Telly Awards for his work. His passion for photography continued into retirement, where he earned recognition, including a Best in Show award from the Montgomery Village Association photo contest. He found joy in day trips, always seeking the perfect shot, and received several awards for his stunning photography.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 2:00PM – 5:00PM at Gentleman Jim's Restaurant, 18257 Flower Hill Way, Gaithersburg, MD 20879
