

Stanley Edward Iciek On Friday, January 5, 2024 Stanley Edward Iciek of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of Patricia Ruth Iciek, loving father of Kenneth and wife Eileen (Thorpe) Iciek, James and wife Susan (Larson) Iciek, Jeanmarie (Iciek) Edwards and husband Morey Edwards and Claudia (Iciek) Stallard and husband Scott Stallard. Adored grandfather of Melissa Carpenter (Matt), Suzanne Iciek, Katie Iciek, Allison Tully (Sean), Brian Iciek (Kaela), Caroline Iciek, Christopher, Michael and Megan Stallard; great grandfather of Caleb, Molly, Nathan, Luke and Abigail Carpenter, Mackenzie, Parker, and Zachary Iciek, and Stephanie Johnson.
Stanley was born in 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended St. Rita’s grade school and Tilden Tech High School. After graduating high school, Stanley enlisted in the Navy to serve his country during World War II. He was in the Electronics Training Program after passing the Eddy Test. The test was named after Captain William C. Eddy, who was tasked with developing a program to train Radio Technicians. These technicians maintained the electronic components on the thousands of new ships, aircraft, and submarines that were needed to win the war. After the war Stanley enrolled at Northwestern University where he earned a degree in Marketing. After graduation, Stanley received his Masters degree from the University of Chicago. He worked for the Crane Company, Brunswick Corp. and the government prior to accepting a job at the Paperboard Packaging Council, a trade association in Chicago. Stanley served as director of marketing from 1960 to 1973. During that time he developed over 100 statistical programs so detailed that the Wall Street Journal used the results to assist in developing the US economic indicators each month. In 1973, Stanley was promoted to the position of Executive Director. He continued in the director position until he retired in 1992. During retirement Stanley and his wife Patricia took up traveling and visited six of the seven different continents.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15663 Norbeck Blvd., Silver Spring, MD 20906 with Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 12:30 pm. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD at 2:00 pm.
