Jacob Alonzo Long Sr.

He was born June 22, 1923 in Nixville, SC to the late Irene and Barnwell Edward Long. He lived most of his life in Savannah. He retired from Amoco Oil after 35 years of service.

Jacob was preceded in death by his first wife, Lily Mae Hix Long, his second wife Louise Ferguson Long, and a daughter, Glenda Giddens. He is survived by three children, Wanda Evans (Charlie) of Rincon, GA, Jacob Long, Jr. (Ann) of Savannah and Harold Long “Sput” (Edna) of Hardeeville, a brother, Murray Long (Ruby), 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Fairhaven Funeral Home in Garden City with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Nixville Baptist Church Cemetery in Nixville, SC.
