

He was born in Hampton, S.C., and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Beasley; a son, John Lee Beasley, Jr., and a daughter, Brenda Lee, and a brother, James Henry Beasley.
He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, and a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a retired supervisor, having worked for Chatham County Public Works.
He was an associate of the Military Order of the Purple Hearts, the Vietnam Veterans Association, the Marine Corp’s Detachment # 1326; and he loved riding in the Veterans Parade, and the Stand Up For America Parade, and he was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
He is survived by a daughter, Shirley Caines, of Pooler, Ga; 2 sisters, Virginia Banks of Savannah, Ga., and Pat Crews, Little Rock, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren, James Beasley, Stacy Smith, Dana Morrison, Geri Armstrong, Michelle Steward, and Anthony Strickland; and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Fairhaven Funeral Home & Crematory.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory, with Rev. James Banks, and Rev. Steve Maguire, officiating.
Interment: Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
