

He was born in Arlington, Mass.; grew up in Watertown and lived most of his adult life in the Chatham – Effingham County areas.
Norm was a Vietnam Veteran 66th-68th US Army, 1st Special Forces 5th Group and received a Purple Heart, several Air Medals, NDSM, VSM, VCM and numerous other service medals. He was a truck driver for 35 years.
He was a 20 year member of American Biker Active Towards Education (ABATE – District11) and past officer, proud supporter and know associate of the Wingmen MC, proud supporter of the In Country Vets MC, US Military Vets MC, Christian Motorcycle Association and Bomber Girls Ladies Riding Club.
His son Brandon Scott “Scott” Ward preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Jill; sons, Chris and Andrew; daughters, Brooke and Lindsey; grandchildren, Logan, Dylan, Kadin, Mackinzie and Oriana; best friends, Coot and Grip and too many Brothers to list.
A gathering for family and friends will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a service to celebrate Big Norm’s life beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel; a funeral procession will be Friday, April 27, 2012 from Fairhaven Funeral Home in Garden City at 3:30 p.m. for the inurnment service.
In lieu of flowers donations are asked to be made to Horsin’ Around, 1032 John Carter Road, Bloomingdale, GA 31302.
