

He was born in Bloomingdale, GA, having served in the US Army during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He received the 50 year Korean Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal w/V Device; 6 Overseas Bars; National Defense Service Medal; Korean Presidential Unit Citation, and the Armed Forces Reserve with Hourglass Device.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Catherine Mae Dickey Turner, of Garden City; 2 sons, John R. Turner of Garden City and Michael F. Turner, of McDonough, GA; 3 daughters, Kathy Lynn Klien (Ken) of Dayton, OH, Elizabeth Jean Vaughn (Michael) of Jamestown, SC. and Georgette Marie Stell (Danny) of Springfield, GA; John Wesley Turner and 6 other grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory.
Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, in the Chapel of the Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
