Winton R. Carter, Jr. 69, son of Hazel and Winton R. Carter, Sr. was born on October 22, 1943 at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Mr. Carter grew up in the Garden City area and graduated from Groves High School and was a millwright/welder and painter most of his life.
He is survived by three children, Michelle Carter Stroup, Winton Carter III and Tabitha Carter; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Anderson and Joy Carter Rowland.
Funeral Service will be held at Fairhaven Funeral Homes & Crematory, Garden City, on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
