They were high school sweethearts and married for 57 years. He is also survived by his two daughters, Christie Schubert (and husband Eric), Teresa Kish (and husband Scott).
He has three surviving grandchildren and one great grandchild which were the light of his life: Grandson Dillon Schubert;
Granddaughters: Bethany Kish and Savannah Kish; Great Granddaughter: Harley Kish - Rothbauer.
He is also survived by one sister, Jonnye Mae December of Lubbock, TX.
Artie was born in Clovis, New Mexico on Jan. 13, 1940 to Johnnie and Ruby Foster. He grew up on a farm and learned to drive a tractor at an early age.
After completing high school, he joined the Air Force serving for four years. He was a mechanic on the Strategic
Air Command Defense planes and loved the job. After completing his four years with the Air Force he and Marilynn moved to Calif.
so he could attend Northrup Institute of Technology earning a degree in the Aircraft and Powerplant Program. After obtaining his
A & P license, he went to work for Western Airlines. He worked for Western for 15 years until Western was bought by Delta Air Lines.
He continued his career with Delta and worked for a total of 38 years in the aircraft business, He retired in 2002.
Artie loved the outdoors. He liked going to Death Valley, camping out, shooting his guns and cannons. He also enjoyed going
to New Mexico where he and Marilynn grew up and spending time on the farm and ranch which he and Marilynn had inherited from her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on July 28 at Shoreline Baptist Church. Fountain Valley, CA. All friends are invited.
