Carrie Criselle Chechovsky was born May 14, 1959 in Texas and raised in Anaheim, CA. She attended Stoddard Elementary, Ball Jr High, where she was part of the American Softball Girls Association and the Girls Athletic Association. While attending Loara High School she participated in many activities including the drill team and worked as a Nurses Aid before graduating in 1976.
Carrie dedicated 35 years to Pac Bell working as a telephone operator. One of the highlights of her career was working for the Pac bell exhibit at Disneyland. She would go on to become a supervisor and was dedicated to her position until her retirement in 2015. Although Carrie never had kids of her own, she was a kind and thoughtful aunt to her two nieces and four great nieces and nephews.
We remember Carrie her for grace, how sweet, gentle and kind she was and for her love of all music, especially Elton John. She always had a knack for finding new and interesting bands and songs. She also made the most delicious deviled eggs! They were requested for every holiday and family gathering.
Carrie had a passion for learning new things, whether it be through magazines, books, watching documentaries or any other source that would expand her knowledge in any topic. She was bright and intellectual.
She loved cooking and wine tasting and even had a talent for being able to describe and tell you all about the wine’s flavoring and offer an idea for a good pairing. Carrie enjoyed watching game shows, seemingly to always know the answers. She also loved watching movies and enjoyed a good crime show and shared a love of British mysteries with her sister, Laurie.
Four words to describe Carrie are: caring, loving, elegant and sophisticated. She was always so thoughtful when it came to the smallest of things and had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room.
Carrie is survived by her sister Laurie Chechovsky, brother Chuck O’Dey, niece Stephanie Guinn, her husband Philip and their children Nicholas and Katelyn; niece Jennifer Wilson, her wife, Charleda and their children Declan and Kassi; and her beloved Aunts and cousins. Carrie is preceded by her mother Myrna O’Dey; sister Keli Musselman; brother-in-law Everett Musselman; grandmother Esther Murr; and grandfather Steven Murr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 10th at 11:00 am at Dimond & Shannon Chapel in Garden Grove. She will be laid to rest at Melrose Abbey Memorial Park in Anaheim immediately following the service.
