Horace Spencer Langhorne, Jr.

Horace Spencer Langhorne, Jr. was born September 30, 1940 to parents Horace Spencer Langhorne, Sr.(deceased) and Azealia Druelton Gardner(deceased) in Los Angeles, California. Horace was the oldest sibling brother of Victor and Chemille. Horace attended Manual Arts High School and attending college classes at UCLA and Cal State Los Angeles. He loved playing basketball and football with this friends. He was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Rams and Green Bay Packers and the USC Trojans. Horace started working for the LA Times as a paperboy in his early teens and became an insurance agent in his early 20s. Then he met the love of his life and wife of 55 years, Stella Mary Francis (Fanny) Edwards Langhorne (deceased.) They were married July 23, 1966 and were blessed with children Shannon and Theron. Stella never liked the name Horace, so she always called him "Honey."

Horace became a successful insurance agent and provided for his family. They moved from Los Angeles to Rancho Cucamonga in hopes of raising his children and providing for his bride in a better neighborhood and lifestyle. He enjoyed planning family summer vacations, weekend getaways, BBQs and picnics, family gatherings, and watching his Lakers win. Horace was quiet and reserved but very social. He always looked forward to Stella's cooking as she would make him a feast at every meal. Dad's favorite 'go-to food' was chili cheese dogs, Chinese food, cookies and ice cream. Stella would nickname him "the cookie monster."

Horace was an elder in his congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years and served his God faithfully until the end. He served vigilantly as a servant in his faith and never faltered.

He is preceded by his sister Chemille Meador. He is survived by his children Shannon and Theron Langhorne. A myriad of extended family members and many friends.
