Kimberly Jean Carrillo of Garden Grove passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 , surrounded by friends and family, at the age of 59. Born October 29, 1956 in Akron, Ohio, Kim was the daughter of the late Paul and Goldia Fairfax. The middle of 5 children, Kim was raised in Ohio, Florida and finally moved to California when she was about 12 years old.
Kim attended Bolsa Grande High School. Kim worked for 20 plus years at Ford Aerospace and most recently at Yamaha Motor Corporation which she loved. Kim met her husband Ruben when she was in high school, a good friend of her older brother.
Ruben and Kim were best friends for years. In 1983 they were married. They had two great kids, Ruben Paul born in 1985 and Erica Jean, born in 1990. Her life was full of adventures with her husband and children. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures – traveling ”road trips”, camping, riding quads, estate sales, painting, music, hump days, and spending time in her garden watching her hummingbirds.
Kimberly will be remembered with great fondness and love. She touched the lives of everyone she met. A smile from her could brighten any room or any dark day. She was selfless, even throughout her long battle with Lymphoma. She had a resolve unlike any other, and a resounding positivity that never faded. She was a Warrior.
She is survived by her husband Ruben, son Ruben, his wife Vicki, daughter Erica, her husband Nevin, grand-dog Thumper; her 4 siblings, brothers Ed, Jay, and Jim, and sister Carole; and 11 nieces and nephews.
We love her and will miss her. We will honor her by continuing the fight against all cancers
