Ramona G. Espinoza, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother went to heaven on December 18, 2023. She was born in San Dimas, California on June 11, 1926. In 1932, she was unconstitutionally sent to Mexico along with her mother and American-born siblings. She remained in Mexico until 1949 when she was finally able to return to the US. Ramona worked tirelessly to ensure that the injustice which happened to her family and over a million and a half Mexican immigrants and their American-born children would be included in the school books of the State of California.
Ramona married Arturo O. Espinoza in 1948. They had four children: Art G. Espinoza, Raymond G. Espinoza, Maria Guadalupe Espinoza and Rosa Linda Rodas. They had eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Her Catholic faith sustained her throughout her life. She served as a catechism teacher for years and inspired us to grow in our faith. We miss her greatly and look forward to seeing her again in heaven.
