

Mr. Roy Henry Day of Garden Grove died on July 29th of 2011 at the age of 87. Born January 6, 1924 in the State of Oregon, Roy spent the last 57 years with family and friends here in California. He was a proud World War II Army Veteran having served as a Technician Fifth Grade handling communications for the troops. During his tour of duty, he was deployed to Africa, Italy and France. After his military service, he spent 35 years in the electronics industry and met his second wife, Kay, at Babcock Electronics. Roy and Kay were married August 30, 1963 and spent their honeymoon at Lake Havasu. The family has enjoyed going there for a vacation of camping and fishing ever since. Roy loved to go fishing and he shared his passion with his children and grandchildren.
Roy's wife, Kay, predeceased him in 2008. He is survived by his children, Patrick Day, Laura Reeves, Larry Musser, and Lesley Curry; 11 grandchildren - April, Kelly, Danny, Eric, Maggie, Madalyn, Dakota, Jason, Jasmine, Destiny, and Ryan; and 3 great-grandchildren - Landon, Sydney, and Harlie.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10th at 10:00 AM at Dimond & Shannon Mortuary in Garden Grove followed by a procession to Riverside National Cemetery where Roy will receive military honors and be laid to rest with his wife, Kay.
