in Tougaloo, Mississippi, to Eddie Lee Rand Sr. and Thelma
Louise Slaughter-Rand.
Billy accepted Christ at an early age and was raised with
strong values rooted in faith and family. He was educated
through the public school system and attended school
through the sixth grade. From a young age, he began working
alongside his father in the family’s lawn service business,
where he developed a strong work ethic and deep sense of
responsibility.
In the 1960s, Billy moved to California with his beloved sister
Vivian “Sally” Rand. It was there that he met the love of his
life, Joyce Ann McGlothen, when she was just sixteen years
old. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and
friendship.
Willie Lee Clarence Rand’s passing has left a profound void in
the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege
of knowing him.
Billy leaves behind a loving legacy through his eleven
children, twenty-three grandchildren, and a host of
great-grandchildren. His spirit lives on through each of them,
as well as through the many lives he touched with his
warmth and kindness.
We ask that you remember Too Sweet not for the way his life
ended, but for the way he lived—with love, strength, and
compassion—and for the lasting impact he made on everyone
whose lives he crossed.
The family of Willie Lee Clarence Rand wishes to extend our
heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the outpouring of love,
prayers, and support during this time of loss. Your comforting
words, visits, and acts of kindness have truly meant the world
to us. Thank you for helping us honor
